Kuakata does not have the expected number of tourists even during the Victory Day holiday

Many people have taken a day off on Friday and Saturday, along with the weekly holidays, to visit tourist attractions with their families on the occasion of Victory Day. However, the picture of the tourist city of Kuakata during this Victory Day holiday is a little different. While the pressure of tourists can be seen in other tourist centers of the country, Kuakata does not have the expected number of tourists. This has disappointed the tourism-related businessmen.
On Monday (December 16), most of the tourist attractions in Kuakata were visited without much pressure from tourists. There are normal tourists in Kuakata, as on weekends. Tour operators and tourism-related businessmen say that the pressure from tourists is somewhat less due to the increasing severity of winter.
Every year, with the arrival of winter, the Kuakata sea beach becomes crowded with tourists from the beginning of the tourist season. Small businesses are crowded. Domestic and foreign tourists flock to Kuakata to enjoy the joy of Victory Day, Christmas, and the Christian New Year. But this year the picture is completely different. Hotel-motel and resort businessmen are a bit disappointed.

Sadekur Rahman, who came from Dhaka with his family, said, "This is the first time I have come to Kuakata with my family. I have taken one day off with the weekly holiday and another day off for Victory Day. Now I have four days off in a row. I feel pretty good. However, I did not expect that there would be so few tourists in Kuakata. This place is very beautiful, the environment is also very good. Apart from that, the security system is also satisfactory."
Hotel Khan Palace Managing Director Md. Russell Khan said, "We had hoped that hotels and motel resorts in Kuakata would be 100 percent booked during the Victory Day holiday. However, although 80 percent of rooms were booked in first-class hotels and resorts in Kuakata, second-class and general hotels did not have the expected number of tourists."

Tour Operators Association of Kuakata (TOAK) President Ruman Imtiaz Tushar said, with the arrival of the winter season, there is an additional pressure of tourists in Kuakata. Because during the monsoon season, you can only travel within Kuakata. But during the winter season, you can visit about 12/14 islands through the Kuakata sea. But even though the winter season has started this year, the desired number of tourists has not been seen in Kuakata so far. However, I think there will be a good presence of tourists in the future.
Tourist Police Kuakata Region Police Superintendent Md. Ziaul Ahsan Talukder said, "Every year there is pressure from tourists throughout December. But this year it is very low. However, overall we are active. We have strengthened additional security on the occasion of Victory Day. Our team is working in uniform and plain clothes. Even though there are fewer tourists, there is no lack of security in Kuakata."
