Strict action will be taken if there is interference with the country's independence and sovereignty.


Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said that the government will take strict action if there is any seditious activity that causes injury and insult to the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.


Referring to ISKCON's expelled leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, Asif said, "We want to say clearly that if he is involved in sedition, no matter who he is, no matter how big a leader, he will not be exempted."

He said these things at the discussion meeting organized on the occasion of distribution of winter clothes among the needy at Pawtana University Ground of Chaola Union of Pirgacha Upazila of Rangpur on Tuesday (November 26) afternoon.

Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiy said that the law and order forces will take measures not in consideration of the community, but in consideration of the security of the state. Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari was arrested not as a sect leader but for sedition. No conspiracy against the independence, sovereignty and state of Bangladesh will be accepted.

He also said that the mass uprising of the students of 24 has happened from the place of people's dreams. We have the name of the platform from which the uprising took place. We want a democracy without discrimination.

This advisor said about development inequality, earlier there was area-based discrimination in Bangladesh. There has been development in the area where the Prime Minister and the Minister have been. We want to eliminate discrimination and promote equal development across the country.

Stating that Rangpur will be given special importance in other matters including budget, Asif Mahmud said that two districts including Gopalganj have been developed during the Sheikh Hasina government. The rest of the districts have been discriminated against. People of Rangpur will not suffer any discrimination in independent Bangladesh.

He said about the Union Parishad, we need to provide many civic services. We will take action on Union Parishads by creating an alternative system. 

Later, about 600 winter clothes and blankets were distributed among the needy families. At this time in the mass uprising of 24, the family members of the martyrs, Rahima Khatun, wife of mason Shaheed Manju Mia, Azgar Ali, father of garment worker Shaheed Mamun Mia and Rani Begum, wife of Shaheed Saiful Islam broke down in tears.

After the event, Advisor Asif visited Pirgacha in Rangpur and Panialen Ghat area for construction of proposed bridge over Teesta river in Ulipur of Kurigram district. At that time, hundreds of people of Ulipur Upazila came to Panial Ghat to express their demands. Besides, he inaugurated the newly built Pirgacha Upazila Parishad building.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon from Pirgacha, Mofazzal Hossain of Kaunia Upazila distributed winter clothes in the field of Model Government Secondary School. Later, he left for Dhaka by helicopter in the afternoon.
